About

God Himself has created every man for a specific purpose but in this world of technology, temptations, and trials satan has used every resource at his disposal to steal the gifts that God has given to each man, kill the calling that God has placed on every man and destroy the purpose that every man has in serving their local community. Men Overcoming Life was created because we understand that no man is made to be an island and it is only in community that men can overcome lust, loneliness, and the various other life issues that men face daily.

We support men in navigating these challenges by providing targeted resources to combat these specific areas of struggle and a space to fellowship, learn, and have honest vulnerable conversations that lead to compassionate prayer and accountability.

In our logo, there are three colors and each one represents a different meaning in scripture and is significant to our mission.

-Green in the bible represents growth and renewal. We are broken men who are here to grow and be renewed by Christ Jesus.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”-Romans 3:23

-Blue in the bible represents the heavens and holiness. As men, God is calling us to live a life worthy of our calling and eternal home.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”-Romans 12:1-2

-Gold in the bible represents something of worth and value. Men you have worth and value to God and your presence is necessary in the kingdom. It is through you that God wants to work to change your local community and change the world.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”-Jeremiah 29:11

According to a 2017 survey by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, approximately 50% of men admitted to struggling with lustful thoughts or behaviors. Additionally, a recent study by Psychology Today found that more than one in four men under the age of 30 reported having no close relationships, with this percentage worsening as men age.

Along with lust and loneliness, there are a multitude of issues that affect men’s mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Our Foundation Scripture at Men Overcoming Life is 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.”  This verse was chosen because, as men, you will face temptations, trauma, and trials that may hinder you from walking in the fullness of who God has called you to be. It can be easy to revert to childish thoughts, speech, and ways of living, but as a son of God, you are called to leave those things behind and live as a kingdom man.
